Welcome to the Next Generation of TCGs!

Exodus the Trading Card Game is created and published by some of the industry's youngest game designers,

Jake and Lexi Medina—otherwise known as Existence Games.

the Exodus TCG was born at the kitchen table with a design journal full of handwritten scribbled notes, a stack of blank index cards, and countless hours of playtesting that quickly turned into a full year of back-end game design. Creating & publishing a tcg was a long-time dream for us, but we knew it’d be a long, challenging and risky road to undertake. With the blessed encouragement and moral support of our family, the decision was made, and existence games officially began!

First Steps

In 2012, we did our initial “soft launch” of the game, and tested the market by hosting small demo days around our local game & hobby shops — and progressivley built our playerbase this way for the next few years. Many retailers turned down our cold calls, but because we believed so strongly in exodus and all it brought to the table, we never gave up.

We’re official!

We progressively started taking the game to more conventions and bigger events to increase its reach, and as the game’s popularity grew, we knew it was time to kick it up a knotch. 2014 saw exodus’ official release with premiere edition starter decks & the game’s first booster set, galaxy tides! We also got on board with 5 different usa distributors and 1 canadian distributor, who all brought the exodus tcg to a vast array of new store shelves around the globe!

Going Steady

As more people discovered the game and new players joined our friendly community each day, we continued to take exodus to countless new conventions across america every year. numerous online influencers discovered exodus as well, and in time the brand was abuzz and on the grand tcg radar.

New expansions

In 2017, we began exodus’ expansion release schedule of 1 new set a year, starting with the 3rd overall expansion crystal forge — which brought 2 new constructed decks to the market. This was followed by two booster sets: Converging Chasms in 2018, and The Dimension That Disappeared in 2019. While we knew we’d get some raised eyebrows over the slower-than-usual release schedule, we made it our firm goal & mission to really take our time designing each card in every new set. From the beginning, we believed in giving our players utmost value with their cards, never forcing older expansions to become obsolete, and alwyas putting our best foot forward as we build upon the exodus tcg with care.

2020’s impact

Alonside the rest of the world, covid19 forced us to suddenly step back, put a pause on everything, and reevaluate the big picture. While an entire new expansion, world championship, and many in-person conventions had to get pushed back a year, we knew the pandemic wasn’t going to add existence games to the tragic long list of suddenly-closed businesses. Instead, it was rather inspiring seeing players reach out online more, find ways to play exodus over webcams and tabletop simulator, and ultimately still keep the love of gaming going in the face of worldwide chaos.

What’s Next?

While a lot is still uncertain and on pause from 2020, we’re over the moon about releasing set 6 threshold of time in 2021, and continously working to bring more innovative & unique things to the table as we move forward together! Our amazing community remains as welcoming and friendly as ever, and it’s a continuous joy to witness and be a part of how exodus brings people together both online and around the table. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of this journey, and invite you to try out the game if you haven’t yet! The Exodus tcg was made for the players, and we could never do it without you!
